Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) consisting of the 44-amino acid sequence of human GHRH with a trans-3-hexenoic acid group attached to the tyrosine residue at position 1. It acts on pituitary somatotroph cells to stimulate growth hormone synthesis and secretion, and has been studied for its effects on body composition, visceral adiposity, and IGF-1 modulation.
